From Chemicals to a diversified « Green » industrial Group

1898 : Creation of Floridienne S.A., company listed on the stock exchange, specialized in the extraction and production of phospates from Florida.

1928 : Investment on the site of Ath, Belgium.

1965 : Launch of a lead-based stabilisers production.

1982 : Creation of the subsidiary Floridienne Chimie and transformation of Floridienne S.A. into a holding company.

1990 : Investment in the snail business. Start of the Food Division.

1996 : Purchase of SNAM, company specialized in the recycling of batteries.

1999 : Start of the Lifescience Division.

2007 : Merge Sidech-MCP, creating MCP Group.

2011 : Sale of MCP Group to 5N Plus, and consolidation of the Life Sciences Division.

06/2014 : Sale of the assets of Floridienne Chimie.

2016 : Delimed and Turita, which specialise in pickled products, joined the Gourmet Food Division, giving it a Mediterranean products supply plant in Bulgaria.

2017 : Floridienne acquires a majority stake through its subsidiary Biobest S.A. in Real IPM Group making Biobest the East-African leader in Integrated Pest Management. In addition to the acquisition of Real IPM, Biobest continued its geographic consolidation with Imex (Mexico), historical distributor of its Mexican subsidiary, with Borregaard, Biobest’s Danish distributor which that operates on the Scandinavian markets, and with Symbiose, which distributes the company’s products in France.

2019 : Merge of Gartal Mareval S.A.S. and Etablissements Doussot S.A.S., and Altesse S.A. and Merydis S.A. within the Gourmet Food Division.

2020 : Floridienne completed the sale of IKA Group and makes the largest acquisition in its history with Beneficial Insectary Inc.

2021 : The Group completed the sale of its subsidiary Gel manche S.A.S. as well as the disposal of its majority stake in the company Salm Invest S.A.

2022 : Biobest Group, concluded an agreement with the company Stickles Management Corporation under the terms of which it acquires a holding of 90% in the Canadian company Morse Leasing Inc., which trades under the name Plant Products. This transaction is being partly funded by a capital increase of EUR 30 million in Biobest. In the framework of this capital increase, Floridienne welcomes Sofina as a new minority shareholder in Biobest, alongside Mérieux Equity Partners.

2023 : Biobest Group NV , finalised the acquisition of the Brazilian company Biotrop Participações s.a. (‘Biotrop’). Biotrop is the leading Brazilian company in the field of biological solutions for agriculture and one of the biggest in the world. The company focuses on the development and marketing of biological products for the nutrition and protection of open-field crops.
